Calathea Network

 

Calathea is a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae, native to the tropical regions of South and Central America.

There are many different species of Calathea, each with its own unique pattern and coloration on the leaves.

Calathea plants are known for their striking, decorative foliage and are popular as houseplants due to their easy care requirements.

 

They prefer:

  • bright, indirect light 
  • moist soil 
  • should be fertilized during the growing season

 

Calathea plants are sensitive to cold temperatures and should be protected from drafts. Some common species of Calathea include Calathea orbifolia, Calathea zebrina, and Calathea roseopicta.
