Maranta Kerchoveana Variegata

 

Maranta is a genus of flowering plants in the family Marantaceae, native to the tropical regions of South and Central America.

The most well-known species is Maranta leuconeura, commonly known as the "prayer plant" due to the way its leaves fold upward at night, as if in prayer.

Maranta plants are known for their attractive, brightly-colored leaves and are popular as houseplants due to their easy care requirements.

 

They prefer:

  • bright, indirect light  
  • moist soil
  • should be fertilized during the growing season

 

Maranta plants are sensitive to cold temperatures and should be protected from drafts.
